Abstract | SUMMARY. The elliptical galaxies NGC 3904 and 4636 have been measured in the 21-cm line of neutral hydrogen with the radiotelescope. Their neutral hydrogen masses are 7.5X 108 and 2.6X108 solar masses respectively, leading to HI mass to luminosity ratios equal to 0.060 and 0.014. The 21-cm lines have rather large widths of about 480 and 570 km I Key words : Galaxies - elliptical galaxies - neutral hydrogen - interstellar matter - 21-cm line radiation |
