| Abstract | Summary The interacting galaxy NGC2623 = Arp 243 - VV79 has been observed in the HI 21 cm line with the Arecibo telescope. By checking the reference pcsition and using very long integration times we demonstrate that the HI profile shows both absorption and emission. These observations of this interesting case of an interacting galaxy will help to test the Toomre-model of tidal interaction in more detail.
